Oxfam student campaigners
Please see below regarding Oxfam student campaigners:
Hello, I’m Emily and I am a member of the Oxfam student activists. I am currently setting up a group in Edinburgh, so I am looking for enthusiastic people to help me out!
Oxfam is a charity which works internationally to fight against poverty. Current campaigns focus on climate justice, the East Africa hunger crisis, the refugee crisis, and the use of British bombs in Yemen. We are linked with Oxfam societies from all across the country, with many wonderful people who want to help us get going, alongside members gaining personal mentoring. There are also chances to attend exciting training events with Oxfam, working with people who were at the forefront of the successful campaign against the deportation of Rwandan refugees.
I have lots of ideas for activities we could do in the next few months, such as linking up with local Oxfam/secondhand stores for a sustainable fashion campaign! If writing is more your thing, you can also blog for the Oxfam website. I am also connected to people who can run talks for us. I would love to build a team and hear your ideas as well 🙂
This is great chance to get involved with setting up a new society which can provide you with excellent skills in CVs and interviews, as well as gaining experience in the third sector and making a genuine impact.
Students from all years and disciplines are welcome, spread the word and register your interest here: https://forms.gle/EmjwWhyUEjyCdZYb6
