Newsflash – Opening at genderED and Upcoming Events
We hope you’re doing well. We are getting in touch with information about an opening at genderED and also some announcements.
We are recruiting this summer’s undergraduate genderED Communications and Events intern. The deadline for applying for this position is the 9th March 2022 at 17:00, and the posting can be found here. The central role of the internship is to communicate and promote the diverse research, teaching, and knowledge exchange work on gender and sexualities at the University of Edinburgh. Please do circulate information about this position to 2nd to penultimate year undergraduates.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we are organising, in collaboration with CRITIQUE and RACE.ED, a roundtable titled ‘Disrupting Coloniality in the Classroom? Decolonisation, Feminism and Critical Pedagogies.’ The roundtable will be held on Tuesday, 8th March from 16:00-17:30. Please click here for more information and registration details.
Also on the 8th of March, at 17:30-18:30, IASH and genderED will be celebrating the launch of Dangerous Women: Fifty reflections on women, power and identity (Unbound, 2022). Showcasing fifty wide-ranging perspectives on our social and political structures, our everyday lives, our attitudes, and our very identities, Dangerous Women questions what it means for a woman to be dangerous and who, or what, does she present a danger to.
