SYLA … (Virtual) House Party, Thursday 17th December, 6:30pm

2020… a year like no other. December is usually a month of plenty festive activities including work nights out, secret Santa’s, meals out with family and drinks in bars with friends. This December will be different for most us and much of which will be spent watching Netflix on the couch when we really want to be hanging out with old friends and making new ones. Maybe the house party app will make a return? (We hope not!)

SYLA invite you to our virtual house party. Absolutely no need to ask if you can bring a pal, it’s an open house and no invite is necessary. Only condition is it’s BYOB (whether that’s a mulled wine or a hot chocolate) so make sure you buy enough and nibbles.

We will meet in the hall for a welcome drink and you’ll probably wander into the living room to see who else is here. You’ll end up talking to someone who knows your friend from uni because they did the diploma or went to school together. A festive quiz is going on in the next room so you and your new friend can join in. After the quiz, you bump into someone else in the kitchen while making a drink so chat to them for a while and you meet a guy you did your traineeship with. Before you know it the music has started in the living room so you make your way back through there for the disco.

We can’t promise you’ll remember the whole night but you won’t have to worry about getting home!

Get an Uber on Thursday 17th December to 1 SYLA @ WebEx at 6.30pm for some festive fun.

On a serious note, this is an opportunity to meet new people and network in a relaxed environment which will be a fun night too. We will use the break out room function to allow you to meet and chat to other SYLA members. This event is open to all lawyers and law students. We will be hosting an interactive quiz and musical game with prizes to be won! To register please visit: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/syla-house-party-tickets-130802193883

Details on how to join the event will be sent to registered attendees by email prior to the event.

The price of a ticket is £5 and all money raised will be donated to The Trussell Trust, a charity that works to end the need for food banks in the UK. You can find out more about the charity at www.trusselltrust.org. We have listed this as a free event to ensure 100% of all proceeds go to the charity. Please therefore donate through our just giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/SYLAParty.

JustGiving sends your donation straight to The Trussell Trust and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

We hope to see you there.
