About the speaker
Dr Gabrielle Golding specialises in labour, contract and commercial law practice, research and teaching. She is a Lecturer at the Adelaide Law School and a member of the Law School’s Work and Employment Regulation Research Group. She is the South Australian Chapter Coordinator of the Australian Labour Law Association.
Gabrielle holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in labour and contract law, Bachelor of Laws with Honours and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Adelaide. In 2017, she was awarded the Bonython Prize for having written the best original doctoral thesis on a legal subject. She also holds a Master of Laws with Merit and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Merit from the Australian National University.
Gabrielle has also been a Lecturer at the Monash Law School and member of the Monash Law School’s Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies.
She is a former Associate to the Honourable Justice Besanko in the Federal Court of Australia (and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Norfolk Island).
Gabrielle has also worked for a number of years as a lawyer at an international law firm, where she advised on a broad range of employment and media law matters. More recently, she has consulted to a boutique contract law firm, advising on employment, contract and commercial matters. In 2019, she was nominated for the Law Society of South Australia’s Young Lawyer of the Year Award.
