VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY IN CENTRAL AMERICA & GREECE SUMMER 2020
VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY IN CENTRAL AMERICA & GREECE SUMMER 2020
Do you want to help rural communities in developing countries across the world?
Do you have a passion for medical care, legal advice or public health?
Do you want to travel, do something fun and build skills for your CV at the same time?
Volunteer abroad in summer 2020 on one of our medical, public health/engineering, or legal brigades with our society Edinburgh Sustainable Projects Abroad!
ESPA offers 10-day volunteer projects to Honduras, Panama, Ghana and Greece, partnered with the charity organisation Global Brigades UK, a student-led movement which uses a holistic approach to empowering developing communities. GB focuses on working with local people to pave the way for sustainable development in improving healthcare, sanitation and legal advice.
Medical Brigades
Volunteers on medical brigades will have the chance to work with local qualified healthcare professionals in mobile clinics to help provide urgent medical care to communities who otherwise face many barriers to access healthcare in the city.
Legal Brigades
Volunteers will shadow qualified lawyers to help educate communities on financial, personal and legal affairs that may be affecting land-ownership, business or even marriage.
Public Health & Engineering Brigades
Volunteers will help to build hygiene stations and water systems to prevent spread on communicable diseases and educate communities on the management of medical conditions.
Greece Refugee Project
This is a new project where United Nations has requested help from GB to work with the Greek Ministry of Health to send volunteers to help give medical care to refugees.
No experience is necessary – all training will be provided throughout the year!
Come to our Launch Night and Information Session on Monday 14th October to learn more about how you can get involved! (time and location tbd)
We will be welcoming our guest speaker, Dr Liam Barrett, President of GB UK.
