Jolyon Maugham QC is a barrister practising in tax law and in recent years has become a key figure behind a series of landmark cases testing fundamental principles in the legal system as it deals with the aftermath of the 2016 EU referendum vote and Brexit. As founder and director of the Good Law Project he is the man behind the Wightman case on whether Article 50 could be revoked, the Cherry case on prorogation of Parliament, and currently is co-petitioner with Dale Vince OBE and Joanna Cherry QC MP is petitioning the Court of Session to seek to enforce the Prime Minister’s statutory obligations to avoid a no deal Brexit.
